Settling in post-tour

It's been a month since the Beetlejuice adventure ended. A whirlwind 3 years on tour plus the incredible 3-month Broadway run. Trying to allow myself to relax and not stress about "the next thing" for a bit. Doing my best to focus on health improvements, better sleep habits, working on the house, working in my home studio, keeping my piano chops up, and developing deeper local friendships and community.

People keep asking me "So you moved from NYC to Austin?", and the answer is... sort of.

In reality (and I've told many of you this in person), I want to figure out a way to be active and present in both cities without breaking the bank. I plan to be in NYC on a very regular basis, whether doing workshops, being available for extended covering/subbing if the circumstances are right, seeing shows and concerts, or literally just hanging out with friends and colleagues. If nothing else, that last reason will be the one that'll keep bringing me back. Honestly, you can expect to see me in New York more than you did the past three years.

And if Broadway or touring comes calling again, you bet I'm listening. In the meantime, I'll be bopping back and forth as often as I can, soaking up Austin music and food on one end and trying to keep the career ball rolling on the other. I may look back on that sentence in a year or two and roll my eyes at the optimism, but if we can't have optimism, what's the point?

See you soon, no matter which end of my "commute" you're on!
